When Arthur first spotted Vanessa fiddling with a camera at a barbecue back in 2008, he knew, being a photographer himself, that they’d have something in common, and he was more right than he could’ve known. The lovely couple said their “I dos” at the Clubhouse in Patriot Hills in New York and the stunning views along with the exquisite ballroom made for a wonderful wedding day and video, which the Live Picture Studios videographers were there to create. As Arthur said to Vanessa at the altar, “When you find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible,” and we were happy to be a part of these newlyweds’ beginnings. Congratulations, from all of us at LPS!

Like many aspects of same-sex weddings, lesbian and gay couples must often make some unconventional decisions when it comes to their choice of attire.
There’s no longstanding tradition to fall back on when it comes to deciding what either two grooms or two brides should wear to their wedding.
But take it from us as longtime wedding videographers who’ve been to our share of lesbian and gay weddings in NJ and NY, as a result of the lack of tradition, some couples are coming up with some interesting and inspired choices for attire.
Karen and Mark celebrated their union at the spectacular Rockleigh Country Club in New Jersey, and between the brilliant ballroom setting and the emotional speeches from family and friends, it was truly an unforgettable occasion. Luckily, the Live Picture Studios videographers were there to help capture every special moment, and there were plenty! As the maid of honor said in her beautiful speech to the newlyweds, “No matter what life throws your way, let the love that has bound you together make you strong, and there will be no obstacle you cannot overcome.” We here at LPS completely agree and would like to congratulate the lovely couple, Karen and Mark!

When Alfred proposed to Michelle at Rockefeller Center in front of the ice skating rink and all the strangers who were gathered there, she was so taken by the moment that she missed a lot of what he said, so when he stood up, she told him to get back down and do it over! The Live Picture Studios videographers were at the lovely couple’s wedding and after spending the day with them, it’s easy to see why she got so caught up in the moment. They truly seem meant to be. The lovely couple said their “I dos” at the St. Francis of Assisi Church and celebrated with family and friends at The Park Savoy in New Jersey, and the elegant gardens and grounds as well as the exquisite ballroom made for a truly remarkable wedding video. As the priest said, “So fall in love, stay in love, and that will decide everything.” We couldn’t agree more. Congrats, Michelle and Alfred!

So the big day has come and gone, hopefully without a hitch, and it probably flew by faster than you thought it would, but either way, now the question becomes, what’s next?
So much time and energy goes into the planning process that few give even a thought to what happens after the wedding. Obviously, some newlyweds head straight to their honeymoons, but even so, what’s the first move upon your return?
Ilene and Jeffrey did that rare thing that so few people do, they listened to their parents, who knew the two would hit it off, and they were right. The lovely couple were married under a beautiful chuppah at the Preakness Hills Country Club in New Jersey. The gorgeous golf course and grounds, the classic ballroom, the elegant craftsmanship, and the touching speeches made for an unforgettable wedding video, which the Live Picture Studios videographers were in attendance creating. As the best man and groom’s brother said, Jeffrey “couldn’t have found a better match,” and after spending the day with the newlyweds, all of us here at LPS would have to agree. Congratulations, Ilene and Jeffrey!

We all know that there’s usually no shortage of at least a little drama at any wedding, whether it’s a problem with the venue or staff, a disagreement between guests from opposite sides of the wedding, etc.
However, when it comes to planning a lesbian or gay wedding in NY or NJ, there is an inherent and unique set of challenges and concerns, one of which is how you should go about dealing with unsupportive relatives and friends.
The best man at this amazing wedding recalled the day he got the fateful call from Mark, asking him to meet for a cup of coffee so that he could tell him about this girl he had met. Then, when the best man met Sanja, he saw that all the wonderful things Mark had told him about her were true. Sanja and Mark celebrated their big day at the charmingly elegant Venetian in New Jersey surrounded by family and friends. Emotions were running high and the dance floor was alive with excitement. The Live Picture Studios NJ / NY wedding videographers were there capturing it all for this cinematic wedding film and it was obvious that these two were meant for each other. Congratulations, Sanja and Mark, from all of us here at LPS!

Grooms historically take a step-back approach to their wedding days, not all of them, but most. They think that since they’ve bought the ring and have done a thorough job of planning for the big day that once it rolls around, they can just sit back and enjoy.
And hopefully, everything goes as planned and nothing pops up that compels you to change course. However, we’ve been in NJ and NY wedding videography for a long time, and things rarely go exactly as planned at these types of things.
When Timothy first met Jacqueline in Vegas in 2011, he told her cousin, “Your cousin’s going to fall in love with me.” She didn’t believe him then, but he proved her wrong and the couple celebrated their marriage with family and friends at the vibrant and magnificent Wilshire Grand Hotel ballroom in New Jersey. The Live Picture Studios videography team was there to capture all the emotional moments, and there were plenty, but perhaps none more so than when the couple read their personal cards to one another, with Timothy writing that, “Loving you is effortless,” and Jacqueline writing that while, at times, it feels like it was just yesterday when they met, at other times, it feels like she’s known, loved, and been loved by him forever. What a beautiful sentiment. Congratulations, Jacqueline and Timothy, from all of us here at LPS!
