Yes, there are some pretty breathtaking beach and riverside backdrops for wedding photography in NJ, but for some couples, there’s just nothing like a lakeside setting, whether it’s the usually serene atmospheres, the woodland areas that tend to surround the water, etc.
And if you and your partner are looking for the perfect lakeside venue for your big day, then the good news is that the Garden State has plenty to offer in that area as well. Check out these three top-notch options from our veteran New Jersey wedding photographers.
1. Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta
When it comes to lakeside setting options in the state, it’s hard not mention this gorgeous venue first or close to it, and the fact that it’s still relatively new speaks to how incredible it really is.
Maybe it’s the centerpiece eleven-acre lake, or maybe it’s the two islands, natural birch tree archway, stone fire pit, or the surrounding natural wooded wildlife reserve area, but the Rock Island Lake Club truly feels like a destination wedding location, without the travel.
We haven’t even mentioned the club itself either, which includes a grand ballroom, a spiral staircase, a beautiful balcony suite, and covered decks with lakeside seating. So, that lakeside feel permeates the interior as well, and the venue’s “one event at a time” policy ensures you get their full attention. Check out the video highlight from the venue below.
2. Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes
Another stunning lakeside setting that gives the feeling that you’ve traveled to some faraway land yet doesn’t actually require much of a trip at all, the Indian Trail Club is as beautiful as it is convenient.
And the best part about this venue is that you can get married in the ceremony site right by the lake and then shift over to the refined country club atmosphere for your reception. Again, though, even the interior is designed to accentuate the lakeside views outside.
On top of that, the Indian Trail Club offers both indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a big bar & lounge, a cocktail room, and stone terraces. Also, just like the Rock Island Lake Club, this venue hosts just one event at a time. Check out the video below to get a feel for the place.
3. Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park
Constantly rated one of the top country club wedding venues in New Jersey, the Brooklake Country Club also offers gorgeous ceremony sites right beside a lake and meticulously landscaped grounds all around.
And again, that lakeside atmosphere permeates the entire venue as the spacious ballroom inside includes floor-to-ceiling windows providing awe-inspiring views of those gorgeous grounds and the lake.
And just like the two options mentioned above, the Brooklake Country Club has a “one event” policy, so you’ll have the entire lake, ballroom, etc., to yourself should you choose to say your “I do’s” there. See for yourself how amazing the venue is in the video below.
Our New Jersey wedding photographers know lakeside settings.
We’ve been to venues of all styles and sizes in our time in the industry, including lakeside locations, and while there are some more awesome options, these are a few of the best.
Just remember that every venue has a different atmosphere, even if that difference is slight, so make sure you know, exactly, the kind of lakeside celebration you want before making any decisions. Good luck!
