Yes, our NJ wedding videographers work on the actual wedding day, so you may think that, no matter how much experience they have, the only advice worth listening to from them would be concerning the day of, not so much the planning phase before it.
But when you’ve been in wedding videography in NJ for as long as our crew has, you pick up some tricks about all things wedding-related along the way, including the planning process.
1. Find an all-in-one location.
If at all possible, and if it aligns with your vision for your wedding day of course, then you should try to find a single location where your entire celebration can take place, from the prep period through the night.
Again, it’s not always an option, but if you do manage to find a venue which offers both ceremony and reception spaces that suit your needs and tastes as well as hotel accommodations that do that same, then book it!
It can save you significantly, both in terms of time and money, almost always two of the biggest concerns during any wedding planning process, but according to our wedding videographers, it’s not just that.
For instance, you won’t have to deal with practically any logistical issues concerning transportation, and it’ll also allow your videographers and photographers to be able to capture more of your day, which will only make your love story richer and more captivating in the end.
2. Do as much as you can with each vendor.
Any wedding planning process comes equipped with its own set of moving parts, usually a whole lot of them. That’s why it can be so helpful to find vendors who offer more than one service and stick with them for as much and as long as you can.
For instance, if you find videographers who also do both engagement and wedding photography, make their own DVDs with customized cases, and create their own photo albums like us, then you may want to strongly consider working with them.
It’s not just about finding more affordable package deals either, although that is a big part of it. It’s also about making things more convenient and efficient, and developing a better relationship with your vendors.
3. Don’t just know there’s a Plan B, know the Plan B.
Yes, it’s critical that you prepare some type of backup plan in case of unexpected issues like bad weather during the outdoor portion of your celebration, but just knowing there’s a Plan B isn’t enough. You need to know the ins and outs of it.
For example, if the weather does indeed refuse to cooperate during your outdoor ceremony and it has to be shifted to the back-up location, wouldn’t you want to know what that’s going to look like?
Our team’s been doing wedding videography in NJ for years now, so we’ve seen plenty of back-up plans not just prepared but actually executed, and we’ve seen plenty of brides and grooms who weren’t prepared for nor happy with the results.
So, make sure you get some kind of look at your Plan-B options, in all aspects of your celebration. Don’t just be happy with the knowledge that there are some, because at some locations, there’s a big difference between their option A’s and B’s.
