Our team’s been doing wedding videography in NJ for a long time now, so we know about the particular issues that newlyweds-to-be tend to struggle with most.
So, our NJ wedding videographers decided to put their experience to work and share their thoughts on some of those issues. That way, in case you’re right on the fence about any of them, perhaps this post will help nudge you over in the right direction.
A first look is worth it.
Look, we get it. While many wedding traditions aren’t what they used to be, there are still plenty of couples who don’t stray too far from them, whether it’s a family thing or just a matter of preference.
But if you’re going to stray from just one, we recommend the one about not seeing your partner until you’re both looking down the aisle at one another during your ceremony. Why? Because first-look footage and photos are often some of the best in the bunch.
Seeing your partner for the first time on your wedding day is just inherently emotional, so it deserves its own spotlight, at least in our videographers’ opinions. For more on that, check out this post, Should the First-Look Photo Be a Part of Your Wedding Photography Package?.
Pick wedding party people you love.
From a distance, picking the members of your wedding party seems easy enough, fun even, but once you set a date and the decision become real, many couples come to the realization that it can actually be pretty darn stressful.
But our NJ wedding videographers have worked with so many wedding parties in their time in the business, so they know how much the chemistry and energy between everyone makes a difference in the day, and the videos and photos.
So, pick the people you love, the people who support you, and the people who you want there and who genuinely want to be there. Don’t pick people because you’re supposed to or just to even things out.

Prep time and multiple videographers make a big difference.
No, we’re not just saying that because we do wedding videography in NJ. The truth is, we’re saying that because we consider ourselves storytellers, first and foremost, and good stories require detail, nuance, and growth.
The “getting ready” period is also often filled with emotion and energy, which is why it’s so important and why if you’re trying to keep costs low and considering leaving your videographers and photographers out of it, you may want to reconsider.
The same goes for enlisting multiple videographers. You can’t think of it as some useless add-on. It’ll allow you to capture not just events and moments but the reactions to them, and it’ll give you more creative minds thinking about how to tell your story.

Our NJ wedding videographers have been at it for a while.
Again, these are just the humble opinions of our videography vets, but vets is the key word there. These aren’t novices but seasoned experts who’ve been to weddings of every size and style. So, we hope their thoughts help. Good luck!
