Yes, you can learn a lot about any NJ wedding videographer you’re thinking of working with from their galleries of previous work. After all, the proof is in the pudding, but the thing is that their galleries won’t tell you the whole story.
So, some of our veteran videographers decided to share some tips & tricks which you may not have thought of yet that they think could go a long way toward getting you your dream wedding video.
Say what you want, no matter how it sounds.
Whether it’s because they’re overwhelmed with the planning process, they don’t quite understand some of the terms, etc., we’ve been doing wedding videography in NJ for long enough to know how often couples just go with the flow and refrain from speaking up when something pops into their heads.
But while our videographers love themselves some creative freedom, the truth is that everyone will be better off if you try your best to describe the video you want, voice your concerns, and ask questions. What should you ask? Check out this post from BridalGuide.com, 10 Questions to Ask Before Booking Your Videographer.
Show examples, too. Talk about what you like and the feeling you get when you watch them, no matter the terms you need to use. That’ll just give your videographers more with which to customize your video. Remember, their primary mission isn’t to give you a dream wedding video, but your dream wedding video.
Chemistry is important, but comfort is key.
There’s no doubt that if you meet certain wedding videographers with whom you and your partner just hit it off then you should seriously consider working with them, especially if their galleries impress and align with your vision and style.
However, finding any wedding vendors with whom you form an instant connection is rare, and it just can’t be part of the criteria. If you specifically don’t get along for some reason, that’s one thing, but instant chemistry can’t be essential.
When it comes to wedding videography, though, comfort is essential. Most people aren’t used to having cameras pointed at them, following them, circling them, etc., so finding people behind those cameras whom you feel comfortable with is critical.
Multiple shooters make a big difference.
Look, our wedding videographers are good, real good, but no matter how skilled they are nor the equipment they have at their disposal, they just can’t be everywhere at once. They can move from place to place really fast, but simultaneously, no.
That’s why multiple videographers really do make a big difference. You can’t think of it as some extra special effect that you don’t really need. Multiple shooters will allow you to not just capture big moments but the priceless reactions to them.
It’s also about having more than one creative mind on hand thinking about how to better tell the story of your big day, and for more on that, check out this post about the benefits of enlisting the help of multiple NJ wedding videographers.
We can do it all in wedding videography in NJ, but it’s up to you in the end!
One thing all of our veteran videographers seem to agree on is that no matter how much they grow and evolve in their craft, the personalities of the newlyweds and their enjoyment of their wedding days will always make or break their videos.
So, cherish every moment, because it’ll only make you treasure reliving it in your wedding video more!
