It’s no secret that there are plenty of beautiful locations for wedding photography in NYC. It is the greatest city in the world, after all. However, some spots just scream “New York!” more than others.
So, our wedding photographers in NYC decided to put together this little list of some of their stand-out favorite photography spots when it comes to showcasing the Big Apple’s unique style and charm.
1. DUMBO Section of Brooklyn
Brooklyn, as a whole, offers a little of everything when it comes to beautiful backdrops for wedding photos. Whether it’s classic city streets, side streets in industrial neighborhoods, waterfronts, beaches, parks, etc., the list goes on and on.
But to many other parts of the world, nothing says “New York” like the legendary Brooklyn Bridge, which is why the DUMBO section of the borough tops our list of go-to spots for wedding photography in New York City.
Whether it’s Brooklyn Bridge Park’s incredible views of the historic bridge or NYC skyline, Washington Street’s awe-inspiring street-level view of the bridge, or just the area’s old-school city vibe, the DUMBO section of Brooklyn is unmistakably New York. Check out these engagement photos to see for yourself.
2. Central Park
As far as romantic NYC spots in films and television, it’s hard to compete with Central Park, which is why, even though it’s a no-brainer, you still can’t make a list of iconic locations for NYC wedding photography without including the famous park.
Truthfully, the hard part will be deciding where, exactly, to take your pictures, and if you’re just stopping for a quick photo session before hustling off to your reception, then you may want to consider entering around 72nd Street, which puts you right near the Bethesda Fountain and Bow Bridge.

3. The High Line
Located on an old freight rail line 30 feet above the streets of Manhattan’s West Side in the Meatpacking District, the High Line, or High Line Park, truly is a sight to see, as are the scenic views it offers of Manhattan and the Hudson River.
It’s like a strip of serene, natural beauty just above the surface of the urban cityscape, and trust us, the duality of the atmosphere always makes for some powerful pictures. Check these engagement pictures out to see what we mean.
The only thing about the park is that, while it does offer a somewhat secluded setting compared with the hustle-bustle of the city below, it’s still New York City. So, be prepared for some crowds.
4. Times Square
Just like Central Park, you really can’t make a list of iconic NYC wedding photography locations and leave out Times Square, no matter how obvious an option it seems to be.
From the Broadway theaters and the bright lights & billboards to all the wacky characters and the unique energy they create, there are few spots in the entire world that are so immediately recognizable as Times Square.
The only tip our wedding photographers in NYC have, though, when heading to this area, is to carefully consider timing, traffic, and crowds. No, you won’t likely find a “quiet” time in one of the busiest areas in the city that never sleeps, but there are more manageable moments.
Those aren’t the only spots our wedding photographers in NYC love!
Like mentioned at the top, there are far too many gorgeous locations for wedding photography in NYC to list them all here, but these are some of the spots that really scream “New York!” So, if you want the Big Apple’s unique charm to really shine in your wedding photos, now you know where to go. Good luck!
