As one of the editors at Live Picture Studios, I often get asked the question: “Is there a formula to wedding videos?” Truthfully, the answer is both yes and no. Anyone who’s been to his/her fair share of weddings can probably agree that all weddings start to look the same as some point. Every wedding has a ceremony, a reception, an exchange of vows, and sometimes they even have the same priest! There are a lot of wedding videos that come out very generic, because everyone is working with the same content.
So when I edit together a 3-minute highlight for Live Picture Studios, I think about how I can tell the story differently. Our team has a certain style of telling each wedding story. We try to focus on what makes each wedding unique, and avoid falling into the “formula” of wedding videos. I focus on the most touching aspect of the story. Sometimes it’s in the way the couple met, the bride’s relationship with her maid of honor, or the priest’s words of wisdom. But in every video, it’s the love between the bride and groom that drives the story forward. Every couple is unique, and that’s what makes me so excited to put their highlight together. I want them to look back on their video and remember all the amazing moments through our cinematic storytelling.
Recently, I edited together Keisha and Naas’s highlight. I got lucky with this couple, because they’re both such fun and energetic people! Their friends and family gave great speeches that really showed off how perfect Keisha and Naas are for each other. Naas himself is a film-maker, so he was very hands-on with the process. He wrote such a touching letter to his wife-to-be that I even teared up a little in the editing room! Congratulations Keisha and Naas!

We worked at this venue quite a few times and each time have been a wonderful experience from the Vendor’s point of view. As Cinematographers / Videographers, we always hope to receive great hospitality from the venue from providing us specific things that we need to service our couples. Believe it or not, some venues really give vendors a hard time from getting us tables, white cloth, or a place to put our equipment. But not Maritime Parc! They really do their best to cater to the vendors that work in their venue because they want to make sure that the couples are happy.
With that, our most recent weddings we’ve worked on at the Maritime Parc are Kristine and Andy, following up would be Mariama and Leslie. We are finalizing the videos for Mariama and Leslie, so please do check back in a day. But here is Kristine and Andy at the Maritime Parc in Jersey City, NJ.
